The Savage Wiener Goes Camping

Our gourmet hot dogs are delicious anywhere you decide to take them. It goes without saying, they are the perfect food staple to take when going camping. Roasting a hot dog over a campfire is a beautiful tradition for many people. This year, choose The Savage Wiener for your go-to camping hot dog. Our gourmet hot dogs bring an extra layer of comfort to the camping experience. 

Campfire Cooking Instructions: 

Cook time: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 The Savage Wiener gourmet hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • Condiments
  • Skewer

INSTRUCTIONS

Score (optional, but recommended) and skewer your hot dog lengthwise on a sturdy stick, and roast it over the fire. Cook until outside reached level of desired char. 

Advanced Campfire Cooking Instructions: 

Cook time: 12 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 The Savage Wiener gourmet hot dogs
  • Sliced cheese, cut in strips (American or Cheddar melt beautifully)
  • 10 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise
  • Toothpicks
  • 8 hot dog buns

INSTRUCTIONS
Split hot dogs lengthwise, not cutting through, and fill with strips of cheese. Wrap 2 strips of bacon around each hot dog and secure with toothpicks.

Grill or cook over campfire, cheese side up. Remove toothpicks. Add buns and grill, turning frequently, until warmed and lightly charred, about 3 minutes.
